Re: [ThePancreatitisPlace] Question to ALL

Hi
My normal body temp. now is about 96.2. If it even hit what they consider normal
98.6, I would be running a fever. I also have sweats this time of year......cold
sweats. I don't know why. Maybe our pancreas has something to do with it. I also
get severe sugar drops. I have been in the 30's. I am not diabetic. My temp also
drops below 96 . I also have cyroglobulinemia. This is a blood disorder which
causes proteins to clob together in cold temperatures which causes pain and
restriction in blood flow. Is this all related........may never
know!...........Pam ga

Hi Everyone,
ReeAnn had this question last fall and again is has come up with her.
Today ReeAnn went to see her GI to talk to him about some problems
she was having. When the nurse took her temperature it was 94.5. We
have it documented in the low 95's, but this is the lowest reading we
have gotten. When we ask about this they seem doctors and nurse alike
are not concern.
This only seems to happen in the fall, winter and early spring
months. ReeAnn sweats a lot during this time of year too. Every time
her temp rises to 96 ot 97 she breaks out in a whole body sweat. I
was wondering if any one else has experienced this and has an answer
why this may be happening.
With Warmest Regards & God Bless

    Dear Gary:
Has ReeAnn been tested for her thyroid? There is a condition called "William's
Syndrome" that is caused by low thyroid and apparently causes low body
    temperature. Just a thought.

This information is from the internet so read advisedly - from www.drkaslow.com
on basal body temperature. In additiona to these I would add that certain
medications may lower your body temperature as well depending on side effects.
Some causes of low body temperature and related symptoms:
1.. Hypothyroidism: low heart rate, slow movements, mental dullness, weight
gain, high cholesterol, high blood calcium, rapid blood clotting. It is worth
noting that low thyroid function does not always require hormone replacement
(levothyroxine, Thyrolar®, Cytomel®, Armour Thyroid ,etc).
2.. Pituitary insufficiency: obesity, white skin, sluggish mentality,
increased urination, lack of hair growth
3.. Gonadal insufficiency: - no hair growth, smooth thin skin, high-pitched
voice, obesity, irregular menses, immature mammary glands
4.. Adrenal insufficiency: low cholesterol, hyperpigmented skin, low blood
    pressure, asthenia
5.. Hypoglycemia and other impairments of oxidative metabolism
    6.. Cirrhosis
7.. Pancreatitis (usually acute cases only)
8.. Recreational drug or alcohol abuse
9.. Central Nervous System abnormalities (severe and unusual types).
10.. Metabolic toxicity: if the mechanisms that produce energy (and thus the
heat that keeps your body temperature above room temperature) are ineffective or
blocked, it only makes sense that your temperature would be lower than expected
